bit.ly ► Nadia's tips on choosing the right kitchen paint colors: ○ Picking Colors and Materials - Go with warm tones that compliment your cabinets - Get color inspiration from the foods you regularly leave on display - Consider wallpaper - Get funky with chalkboard paint ○ Getting Creative - Paint your ceiling - Paint your wood or concrete floors - Get a professional cabinet painter - Create a pattern with stenciling ○ Using the Right Paint Type - Use a semi-gloss finish for easy clean-up - Go green with environmental friendly paints for little to no smell More Tips: ○ Deciding on a color scheme First, decide on the tone you're going for, cool or warm. If you're keeping your cabinets as they are, this may dictate your direction. For instance, warm wood tones go really great with blue and green colors, but if you have dark brown, black, or white kitchen cabinets you can go with any paint scheme. Be sure to keep in mind the color of your kitchen tile and your flooring. You wouldn't want a paint color for your kitchen walls that clashes. ○ Visualize your kitchen color scheme ideas with 3D design software If you are painting the walls, a home and kitchen design program such as Homestyler can save you a lot of time and money. You can create 3D designs of your kitchen and experiment with everything, including paint colors, so you can play with swatches in the program before you buy samples of paint. You can even look up a specific color from the paint manufacturer's ...

The basic concept or idea behind painting a kids room is to make it more lively and a cozy place for the children to spend their time in. The paintings should be such that they entertain the children as well as provide them information about their surroundings.
Specialty paints for kid's rooms:
• Chalkboard paint - great to use on one of the walls. Kids can write on the wall with chalk and then wipe it off.
• Glow in the dark paint - the latest craze among older children and teenagers. You can create pictures of our solar system, dinosaurs, favorite characters, and more by using glow in the dark paint!
• Magnetic paint - great to use on one wall or just part of the wall. It is fun way to hang up posters, kid's artwork or memos.
• Glitter paint - fun non traditional way to make your kids walls shine. Try for princess room theme and winter room theme.
choosing color
A great idea is to ask your child what their favorite color is and work around that, using different shades to incorporate that color into the scheme.
a.Pastels    : Kids rooms look great when you use a variety of pastel colors.
b.Plain      : You can keep the wall paint neutral by using white, cream or gray but create a feature wall.
c.Bold colors: Using blues, reds and pinks depending on whether your child is a boy or girl.
Pictures
There are many ideas that one can choose from for painting a kids room. Pictures have a great impact on kids and they learn much more through pictorial forms rather than more words.
a.Animals : Parents can use these pictures to teach the children about animals. The pictures of wild animals depict some kind of motion or movement. It helps create a lively atmosphere. Kids are fond of such pictures and enjoy having them in their rooms.
b.Plants and Flowers:To draw a flower is very easy, and a layman can draw a basic flower shape without much difficulty. One need not be an artist to draw simple structures or parts of a flower like the petals, leaves and stem. Drawing can be made simple with the help of tools and accessories easily available in the house itself. Plates could be used to draw circles.
c.Planets
Designing a kids room with the planets of our solar system is a good idea. Any new idea or concept introduced to children acts as a trigger for a 'chain reaction' to follow; which means that the kids ask a lot of questions related to the new things they see. It can be termed as a process of building up curiosity in them to guide them to learn new things, and in short makes them think a lot.
d.Quotes and Poems
Painting the room with poems and nursery rhymes help children in reciting them easily and also develops their interest in further reading. One can write their own quotes which describe or are associated with their children. It helps develop a sense of belonging in children for their rooms.
e.Blue Sky
A perfect blue sky is an interesting concept that can be implemented for painting a kids room. The blue color has a soothing or calming effect on the mind. Painting the room blue with clouds, a rainbow and birds would create a pleasant atmosphere in a kids room, and is one of the best kids bedroom painting ideas.
Themes
There are so many great painting themes you can use for children's rooms, all you need is some artistic flare and a little drawing skills. At your local craft shop you can purchase some stencils in various shapes and designs to help
a.Transport : Paint cars, buses and trains traveling over hills and city roads.
b.Stars : Paint stars around the walls and ceiling using templates. You can use a plain color for the wall and paint the stars in silver and gold.
c.Underwater world: Paint dolphins and whales, starfish and other sea creatures on the featured design wall.
d.Alphabet : Use letters of the alphabet to create a room surrounded by letters and words.
Implement Unique Designs
These designs could include an assortment of stripes, checkerboard designs, different colored polka dots and even incorporating a large assortment of different sized diamonds on the walls.
Personalize with Letter Stencils
You can purchase letter stencils and number stencils in order to place poems and/or nursery rhymes on a wall. You may even elect to incorporate a poem that your child has written in order to create a high level of customization into the room.
Art Wall
Basically, this involves incorporating large sections of drawing paper and hanging it on a wall in the room. You and your child, your child, or your child and their friends may color, draw, and paint on the paper. When your child is tired of one scene, you can remove the paper and place a new sheet up and create a whole new scene.

It is a known fact that the amount of time and effort that one spends on making anything new, the similar amount of effort or expertise is required to publicize the same; so that your efforts begin to bear fruits and you are also able to establish yourself in your fields of operation. Snap Frame and Display Stand; in that respect are adequate means that are able to do the needful for you so that you are able to announce your efforts and endeavours to the entire world in a very effective manner. In fact the former follow innovative mechanisms to exhibit your artworks, and  they are also very convenient for changing your print art without any exertion or any undue and detailed efforts of removing the  entire unit from the wall as such, in that respect they spell practicality that is essential for displaying the art work. This ease of utility makes them highly ideal for usage in restaurants, and airports or for that matter in offices as well, that requires updated information about schedules, and the fact they are totally non cumbersome ensure that they are able to provide updated details in a hassle free manner. They also add on to the display of the interiors as well as exteriors of any place where they are exhibited.
Therefore the underlying factor in snap frame is the ease of operation that is associated with them that makes them highly ideal for usage anywhere. The fact that they are able to provide for a stress free way to do the changes conveniently add on to their popularity as well. Most of the snap frames have concealed locking system, that do not compromise on the ease of operation but at the same time they do not take away the limelight from the actual display. You can keep the frame mounted and can remove the transparent plastic casing and insert the paintings that need to be displayed; this adds on to the utility as well as exhibits ease of operation that allows for convenience right at your fingertips. Another feather in their cap is that they come in variegated finishes that can be chosen to make them more appealing to the interiors so that they can gel with interior and other decorations of the place. They have secure lock mechanism that can be used so that there is no danger to your artwork and it is totally secure within the displayed boundaries. You can also use these interchangeably for landscape or portrait display. They add on to the interiors as well as exteriors of any building or lobbies or restaurants, the high traffic area in any office can be decorated with effective art work using snap frames so that they can add to the decor of the office and keep the tempo high for the group with motivational designs and messages. Similarly chalk board provide for very effective mediums of display that can be used for displaying messages that can be changed effectively according to the needs of time. Thus the display strategy used actually adds on to product familiarity for all and also helping in product value enhancement, which is actually a must nowadays!

Creating a blackboard idea

mysteries book sacred geometry

Posted by Durio Labels: ,
The fall tide brings cool mornings, changing trees, and new ideas for creating classroom decorations inspired by autumn. The theme of trees and leaves are central to the fall season and can be re-created in many classroom decorating ideas.

Falling for a Classroom Tree

Using the themes of trees and leaves to decorate the door of your classroom works really well or if your door does not provide you enough space you can decorate one of the walls in the classroom. The first thing you want to do using either cardboard or brown construction paper is make the trunk and the branches of the tree. You can have the students add detail to the branches and trunk by using paint, colored pencils, or crayons.

After you have the branches and the trunk completed it's time to begin making the leaves using brown, orange, red, yellow, and green construction paper. You can even create multi-colored leaves by gluing a couple or several of the colors together to show that the leaves are in the process of changing color. Next, have each child write their name on one of the leaves they created and hang the leaves on the branches of the tree using glue, tape, or staples. If you would like to you can even add more detail to the tree by making birds and cats out of construction paper and hanging them up in the tree.

Inspiring with Watercolor Leaves

Watercolors, with their soft, dreamy tones and the gentle bleeding of one color into another, lend themselves perfectly to autumn classroom decorating. One simple craft is to invite your students to create large watercolor paintings on both sides of thick paper, allowing them to dry in between Then cut out the watercolor paintings into the shapes of leaves and hang the leaves from the ceiling or tape them to the windows. The watercolor leaves make really cool classroom decorations!

You can string together some of the small leaves to make a border for the cork board or chalkboard. Mix the watercolor leaves with construction paper leaves to make the garlands more dynamic. There are also some really nice fall themed bulletin board trimmers you can buy if you would rather do that. If you or your students cut extra large leaves, those can be used as a background for autumn poetry.

Decorating With Words

Because fall is the time of year when students return to school, a great way to get their minds moving (while also creating classroom decorations) is by brainstorming. Ask them to think of as many words as they can that remind them of autumn. After you have a nice selection of autumn themed words, use large stencils to draw them onto different colored construction paper. The words can then be cut out and put up around the room or used as classroom door decorations.

Decorating With Squash and Pumpkins

Create a beautiful display by arranging small pumkins, squash or gourds either on shared tables or a side table in the classroom. These veggies will last a long time and bring the bounty of nature into the classroom, as well as enhance your classroom décor with their colorful skins.

These classroom decorating ideas will help get you started on creating an autumn classroom cornucopia. Use bright autumn colors combined with leaf and pumpkin themes to make classroom decorating interesting and fun. Involve your students by having them make watercolor paintings, cut leaves, and share inspirational words.

As previously stated, the way to furnish a home is with free furniture. This represents decorating problems with the available free colors. In the Kitchen, the free fridges are always almond or mustard. We were going for the new black and stainless steel look in our new kitchen. We did find a free stainless steel microwave, and a free white stove, but we got a mustard colored fridge. More solutions than problems here, my solution for this was to make the fridge stylish, and add more function to it. We made it one big note pad, painting it with chalk board paint. It is fabulous. The first three months, we didn't even have chalk, so we broke off bits of drywall from construction zones in the house. Drywall makes great chalk, as seen in the last bit of this video.

When you think of display easels, what do you think of? Do you think of wooden floor easels? Do you think of tabletop easels? Are you looking for something for the home, the office or for your business? Many people don't realize just how many types and styles there are until they start looking online. Then, if they have been lucky enough to stumble across the right website, they discover there's a whole world of display easels to choose from.
Let's start with floor easels. The basic tripod artist's style is just the beginning. For display purposes, one of these can be very nice for showing off your favorite painting without hanging it on the wall. By mounting it on an easel in the home or in a gallery, it attracts attention to the painting, allows you to move or change the painting on a whim and doesn't require wall space that may not be appropriate for the artwork on display.
There are dozens of other display easels that might even be more appropriate for your needs. Light weight, foldable bifold stands, for instance, are less obtrusive than the bulkier artist's style, take up less space and can be moved more easily.
Both the bifold and the more traditional tripod easels come in a huge range of materials. You can find them in brass, wrought iron, aluminum and other metals. In wood, you can find them in traditional pine or an assortment of exotic timbers, like cherrywood or mahogany. These are just a few examples among many possibilities.
There is an even greater wealth of designs to choose from. Some of the wrought iron display easels come in just about any whimsical style you can imagine. Everything from a rustic freeform style to an imaginative design. A wrought iron fish for holding the chalkboard menu outside a fish restaurant is just one example among dozens.
When it comes to tabletop display easels, there are just as many if not more to choose from. What are you looking for? Do you need an ornate brass stand to display your favorite antique plate? What about a copper one with delicately rendered leaves to surround a favorite family photograph? Then there are book stands, simple tripod stands, and even utilitarian easels for holding your cookbook open and upright for easy viewing.
Aside from being the perfect presentation solution, they are worthy of display themselves and some could easily stand alone as objects of art. In fact, many people consider them to be collectibles in their own right.
Now that you have had a quick look at the world of display easels, go online and check out some more of the virtually endless list of possibilities. You will be amazed!

Here are some suggestions for baby keepsake gifts:
One of the popular baby gifts that you can opt for includes the traditional silver items. But, you can add your creativity to make it memorable and unique, for example you can try to engrave baby rattle, baby spoon or teething ring with the initials for the baby. These will not only make spectacular gifts, but will also be a long lasting keepsake which can be handed down as a family heirloom.
Next, there you can find some accessories and furnishings to put in the nursery and these will be welcome gifts as well. First of all, it's important to discover the theme or color for the nursery and then you can design beautiful lamps, throw rugs, pillows and even bed linen to complement. In addition, a memory board, frame chalkboard and artwork can also be good accents for the nursery just the same if you want to get creative.
All parents love to show off framed photographs of new babies throughout the house. Some extraordinary choices might include things like hand-painted frames having first names or decorative initials. Keep in mind that multi colored items for nursery are always appreciated gifts, this can be silver and ceramic with beautiful ribbons attached to add a nice touch.
Created by a mom & her two daughters, the 1 Stop Box will make organizing your child's life EASY!!! It's simple to use and everything that's important in your child's life is at your fingertips. Designed to store your child's keepsakes from preschool to high school, the 1 Stop Box will be a keepsake for your child long after they leave home. You will find that the 1 Stop Box is a necessity for organizing their life and it also makes a wonderful gift.

In order to successfully and attractively freshen up an old appliance one can use commercially available appliance paint. These paint can be used to freshen up your kitchen or dining area with perfect results.
It comes as stainless steel or brushed aluminum and can be applied on refrigerators, dishwashers and microwaves. Most of these paints are spray paints and so it would be necessary to carry out the repainting outdoors to avoid the paint coming into contact with other surfaces.
When considering a make over for your kitchen or dining area, you can always repaint your items, which is a cheaper option than replacing the items all together. For those appliances that generate a lot of heat, proper consideration is taken to purchase heat resistant appliance paint. Make sure you follow the instructions on the label to avoid pitfalls on the procedure for applying the coat. The best way to apply these kind of paint is to use an airless spray gun in order to avoid brush strokes on the surface.
Appliance painting is not like the normal painting that we are used to, but then you can do it yourself by following a few basic procedures. Keep your paints at room temperature in a dark dry place. Apply light paints at a time, preferably at intervals of 15 minutes each. Leave paint to dry for at least one day. If you think that this is not the task for you, then you can opt for professional advise from an interior designer, but this will cost you a little more, though it will be cheaper in the long run and you are sure to get a better finish.

One of the best toys that you can ever give your child is an art easel that can kindle their creativity, talent, and love for art. No other toy inspires the young hands like a children's easel with paint, chalk, markers, dry erase markers, crayons, and a blank sheet of paper. There are several different types of kid's art easels that are available to help you make a selection.

So how do you go about purchasing one?

Well, the Internet is the best place to look for all kinds of kids' art easels and you can take your time looking at the various options available at many online stores before deciding on the type of easel you wish to purchase.

You would do well to follow these tips when buying them online.

1. Do your research - It definitely helps to be prepared before you hit the buy button when you are shopping online. There are numerous stores that sell kids art easels online and there are numerous choices that needs to be made before you decide to buy an easel. Do you need a standing easel or a desktop easel? Do you just need Chalkboard or Dry erase board or Magnetic Board or Paper Pads or all of them or a combination of them? Do you need a single-sided or double-sided easel? The questions are many and the choices numerous. That's why it helps to do your research first. In order to narrow down your choices decide on one or two things that are a must have feature. By narrowing the search you will save time and compare products effectively.

2. Fix a Budget - Kids Art Easels come in a broad range of $30 - $200 depending on the features and add-ons that you are interested in. Most of the easels do not come with accessories like paper pads, color pencils, chalk, dry erase markers etc. You would need to purchase them separately. Keep in mind that these are priced on the higher side and make sure you provide for these in your budget. When you see a $40 on an art easel you can be sure that they don't come along with the necessary art medium. Browse for the accessories and decide which ones do you want and then add those prices to the base price of the easel. First time buyers generally tend to overlook the art supplies and are surprised by the total cost when they need to order each of them separately.

One can do nearly anything they want with living room design these days, yet it is still important to consider living room decorating themes when decorating your living room. The most important element that having a decorating theme provides to any designer is the ability to see something as a collective group. Many people will find a piece of furniture that they fall in love with, and have nothing to match it with. Others will find a pattern of wall paper that looks like it came straight from heaven, yet won't be able to find a single piece of furniture to match. When you think of living room design in terms of living
room decorating themes, you will avoid having this problem, and end up with a final product
that is as kind to the eye, as it is collectively matching.

The living room decorating themes that are most common amongst people today often come in several ways, but most likely deal with work, play, or family. Each category shares some similarities when it comes to living room decorating themes, but each is distinctively different in other ways.

A living room decorating theme focused around work should incorporate all that one needs to accomplish their goals for a work at home office. Can a living room really be an office? Absolutely, in fact, the number of people telecommuting to work is higher today, than ever before. When doing a living room decorating theme around this concept, simply make the space a useful one, with sofas that position your body upright, chairs that could be used for conferences and tables that could be used as desks. The more double duty the furniture you choose does, the better your living room decorating theme will be.

Thinking of a living room decorating themes is the realm of play, is as much fun as living in one. There are a many ways to make a living room the ultimate playroom. Everything from home theater elements, to parlor games should be considered when doing this living room decorating theme. You could skip wall paper on a wall, and install a chalkboard, or a white board, for the fun of it. It doesn't get much more playful than drawing on the wall.

While most think of a family living room decorating theme as one with board games, and fluffy carpet, it can be much more. Family oriented living room decorating themes are common in home decorating circles, and often are similar in looks. In order to accommodate a family you must have a place for everyone to sit. For this theme, you should focus on making the sofa as large as possible, with as much room for the family as needed. Using the sofa as a design anchor, the rest of this living room decorating theme should fall into place.
